A cantilever is a projecting beam or arm which is supported at only one end. The arm is firmly attached to, and extends out horizontally from, a wall or a securely fixed vertical structure. CANTILEVER RACKING is used for storage of very long, flat, or oversized items. such as lengths of timber, metal, pipes, carpeting, fabrics, wall sheeting, furniture, and so on.
This practical, open form of storage makes it easier to place and remove stock, as access at the front of the racking is open and unobstructed. It is very popular and most typically used in timber, steel and plumbing facilities, which tend to have awkwardly-sized or -shaped material, stored horizontally.
One bay of Cantilever Racking consists of two strong uprights, with horizontal, weight-bearing arms, attached by sturdy bolts at various levels. We can help you calculate the number of bays needed and their required sizes and weight capacities, to accommodate your inventory. Thanks to a special one-way mechanism, each arm is able to pivot upward (but holds strong downwards) to more easily accommodate items moving or stored beneath each level.
