Drive In Racking

High Density Pallet Racking

Drive In pallet racking is the most popular form of bulk storage and cold storage option on the market. It is the most efficient way to protect your pallets and one of the highest pallet capacity systems available for bulk storage.

A FLEXIBLE SOLUTION FOR LOW STOCK ROTATION

Drive in racking provides a good, workable option for bulk storage, and is in fact one of the highest pallet capacity systems available. It allows existing spaces to be utilised as efficiently as possible, while still providing easy pallet access in your warehouse. This space-saving method is best when there is a high volume of the same item and stock rotation is not needed so frequently.

Last in, FIrst Out / First In, Last Out

Drive-In racking operates on a principal of first-pallet-in, last-pallet-out and works best where stock quantity of a single item is high, and stock rotation is low. This densely-packed storage method saves more space in the warehouse. A forklift can enter each adjoining row of racking space from the side, to load or retrieve the pallets, which are deposited on load-support rails, at each level of the racking. The pallets are placed on the rails, which slide backwards, to be stored more deeply in the racking row, or brought forward again. The forklift enters each row of racking space, selects or places the pallets, and then backs out again, in this last-in-first-out order.

Essentially, the drive-in systems use the least floorspace by allowing pallets to be stacked densely, with access to most recently-added stock first.

Access to first-in pallets for higher rotations

Every Drive-In system is custom-made to suit your specified area and product. By designing and using different configurations we can accommodate either single-entry drive-in racking, or double-entry drive-through racking. The drive-through configuration delivers easy pallet access by providing an entrance at the ‘front’ side of each row, as well as exit access to the pallets that were first-in, at the ‘back’ of the row. This configuration requires an extra lane of empty floorspace for the forklift to access both ends, but still allows for a relatively high density of space-saving storage.

Popular bulk & cold storage option

Drive-in pallet racking is the most popular option on the market for bulk storage and cold storage. It is the most efficient way to protect your pallets, buffered and stored as they are, deep amongst other pallet rows or lanes. They are not generally exposed to movement or other forces until accessed.

Drive-in racking is especially useful for cold storage areas, because costly refrigerated spaces can be employed more economically, by storing more pallets, more densely.

Designed for protection

Your inventory is kept safe, firstly by the dense configuration of pallets in the adjoining racking. Further, steel floor rails and upright protectors are placed to guide forklifts and create barriers, to minimise impacts.

Racking, support rails, uprights, beams, brackets and framework components are constructed from sturdy and durable metal and galvanised steel, with securely welded base-plates to fortify tall structures. Slider rails are equipped with pallet guides and safety backstops, to keep the end pallets stored securely in place.
